Board of Directors Opportunity
Antara Pathways, Inc. is growing, and we are seeking an additional member of our Board of Directors who is aligned with our mission of guiding individuals and families through life’s most meaningful transitions.
This is a mission-centered, working board role for someone who wants their skillset to become compassion in action.
About Antara Pathways
Antara Pathways, Inc. is an Arizona-based nonprofit dedicated to end-of-life support, spiritual companionship, caregiver coaching, legacy recording, and community-based healing offerings.
Our heart is to ensure no one has to walk their final or most tender seasons alone, regardless of income or circumstance.
We are expanding our leadership team and seeking a board member who can help steward this next chapter of growth with wisdom, integrity, and love.
Who We’re Looking For
Because one of our current directors has asked to step down once a suitable replacement is found, we are looking for an individual who can bring either professional grounding or deep lived experience to the board. The ideal board member will recognize the sacredness of end-of-life and understand the importance of clear, compassionate governance.
We especially welcome candidates with one or more of the following:
- Legal background (attorney, compliance, nonprofit law, contracts)
- Accounting or finance background (CPA, controller, nonprofit finance)
- Experience in hospice, end-of-life doula work, chaplaincy, or palliative care
- Nonprofit governance or board experience
- Lived experience supporting a loved one through serious illness or transition
- Fundraising, grants, or development experience (helpful but not required)
Above all, we are seeking someone who leads with compassion, collaborates kindly, and understands that how we do the work matters as much as the work itself.
Board Responsibilities
As a member of the Board of Directors, you will help provide oversight, support, and direction to the organization. Typical responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and approving organizational bylaws, policies, and strategic priorities
- Attending board meetings (virtual) and participating in strategic discussions
- Helping ensure Antara Pathways remains in good standing with state and federal regulations
- Serving as an ethical and spiritual anchor for the organization’s mission
- Offering professional or personal insight (legal, financial, end-of-life, or other) when needed
- Supporting outreach, partnerships, and donor/sponsorship relationships where possible
This is a volunteer board position. Travel is not required; meetings are typically held via Zoom.
Time Commitment & Term
- Meetings: 1 board meeting per month (60–90 minutes) plus occasional email reviews
- Documents: Review of policies, bylaws, and key updates as needed
- Term: Initial 1-year commitment, renewable by mutual agreement
- Location: Remote/virtual participation is welcome
We understand that board members are volunteers. Our aim is to keep things simple, transparent, and respectful of your time.
Our Culture
Antara Pathways was born from lived experience, from trauma, healing, and a near-death awakening.
Because of that, we strive to keep the work gentle, trauma-informed, and spiritually aware.
We value honesty, kindness, and the ability to hold space for others.
If you resonate with the idea that “no one should make the final transition alone,” you will feel at home here.
