Healing Arts & Wellness Facilitator
Supporting mind–body–spirit balance
Healing Arts & Wellness Facilitators offer accessible classes and small-group sessions in
yoga, mindfulness, breathwork, journaling, and expressive arts. You’ll help participants build
nervous-system resilience, restore dignity, and reconnect with community, prioritizing low-income neighbors,
BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities, people with disabilities, immigrants, unhoused and justice-involved individuals, and veterans.
All offerings are trauma-informed and culturally responsive.
Overview
Volunteers design and facilitate low-barrier practices (chair-friendly, prop-light, and sensory-aware) in person or online.
We focus on regulation, breath, gentle movement, and creative expression, not performance or perfection.
Antara provides program guidelines, accessibility tools, and reflective support.
Core Responsibilities
- Plan and lead beginner-friendly sessions (30–60 minutes) in yoga, mindfulness, breathwork, journaling, or expressive arts.
- Use trauma-informed cues (invitational language, opt-in touch = never; offer multiple options; emphasize consent & choice).
- Adapt practices for mobility, sensory, and cognitive accessibility (chair/bed options, low-stimulus alternatives).
- Maintain a grounded, non-clinical container: regulate pace, monitor intensity, and close with integration.
- Coordinate with staff on participant needs, language access, and accommodations.
- Track attendance and brief outcomes; share feedback for program improvement.
Training & Tools Provided
- Trauma-informed facilitation, cultural humility, and boundaries.
- Accessibility toolkit (chair variations, sensory-aware practices, plain-language scripts).
- Consent, confidentiality, and incident-response guidelines.
- Reflective supervision/debrief to support facilitator well-being.
Time Commitment
- 1–3 sessions per month (30–60 minutes each), plus brief prep and notes.
- Minimum preferred term: 3 months. Remote and in-person options available.
Qualifications
- Experience teaching any of: gentle yoga/chair yoga, mindfulness, breathwork, journaling, expressive arts.
- Clear, invitational cueing; comfort adapting for diverse abilities and cultures.
- Calm presence; strong boundaries; commitment to equity and accessibility.
- Ideal for: Yoga teachers, meditation instructors, creative arts facilitators/therapists, somatic educators.
Nice-to-have: lived experience with grief, caregiving, disability, or community healing; bilingual skills.

- Protect privacy: no recording or photos without explicit, written consent via Antara forms.
Screening & Onboarding
- Volunteer application and conversation with program lead.
- Reference/background check (role-dependent; covered by Antara).
- Training completion; agreement to Antara’s standards and privacy practices.
- Co-facilitation or shadowing for first sessions, as appropriate.
